Dr. William Southerland takes us on a path through history and the rise of LGBTQ choruses nationwide. From the Stonewall Uprising through today, explore the impacts and legacy of music in our community.
Dr. William Southerland is conductor, music educator, and scholar based in Greensboro, NC. He holds a doctoral degree in music education and a master's degree in choral conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a bachelor's degree in vocal music from Florida State University. Since 2013, he has served as Artistic Director for Choral Music at the Triad Pride Performing Arts where he conducts the Triad Pride Women's and Men's Choruses. These choruses perform throughout central North Carolina utilizing choral music performances to advocate for justice and equality for all people.
